Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, or so they say. Whoever “they is”. All I really know is that I love breakfast food. To be honest, most of the time when I have meals that are traditionally considered breakfast, it is for supper. In our house, we love a good skillet fry of potatoes and eggs.
There are so many elements to breakfast and so many interesting breakfast meals. People love quick, on-the-go breakfasts just for something to get some nutrition into your body. Things like oatmeal, cereal, and quick fruit dishes can be perfect for those kinds of breakfasts. Sometimes, however, the goal isn’t to get quick nutrition but to just enjoy the meal.
It seems like there are a thousand variations of pancakes and they are all so good. Here at Ramshackle Pantry, we have already covered Swedish Pancakes and Dutch Baby pancakes. The ingredient differences between these two dishes are not really that far changed from each other, but the final product is so different. Well, different except one thing. Delicious flavor. They do have that in common.
There are many sweet breakfasts that look an awful lot like desserts, but they are packaged like breakfast. Cinnamon rolls are a great example of this. Sure, they do provide carbs and sugars to jumpstart your day, but a cinnamon roll a day will not keep the doctor away. The reality is, however, that it is great to be able to enjoy these kinds of breakfasts on occasion.
Then there are breakfast meats. Things like sausages, bacon, and breakfast hashes. So much yum. Did you know that I once wrote a book about bacon [affiliate link]? I am not going to say I am an expert on bacon, but bacon is certainly my jam. I love me a couple of nice strips of bacon. I don’t discriminate, though. I love sausage as well.
Below, you will find our collection of breakfast recipes and I hope you find something you enjoy.
