Today we are talking about coffee and meat! As part of any of our deep dives into classic recipes, I like to spend a bit of time looking at what my peers in the food blogging world are doing for inspiration. We are in the middle of a White Russian deep dive and so here we are. I felt that other cocktails or desserts were too easy though and I wanted to look at some savory dishes. Since the White Russian really is a coffee flavored drink, I thought I would try to find some inspiring savory coffee dishes. Here it is. Five Delicious and Savory Coffee Recipes.
Sues feels like she is cheating by blogging about such a quick and easy recipe, but I say that is the beauty of it. This recipe brings a super fancy meal to your table on the quick and oh my gosh, it looks so dang good! Such an interesting combination of flavors that certainly isn’t typical for my dining table, but something I would spend $50 for at a fine dining restaurant. Check out this beautiful looking savory coffee recipe!
We move a little bit from lamb chops to pork chops with this delicious little number that Erica put together. Yes, the coffee rubbed meat looks great, but I have to be honest that it was the queso that really caught my eyes on this one. Queso is like a magnet for my eyes and stomach. Meat, coffee, and cheese. I can really get into this combo and you should check out this tasty recipe.
We are going to rub some more coffee into some more meat and this recipe looks absolutely delicious. Kristen not only makes this steak look so awesome but adds a beautiful looking peppercorn bourbon cream sauce to the mix that I only imagine can go well with the rest of the flavors. I think I would like that sauce alone, but it must be absolutely spectacular when it picks up little bits from the steak and the cooked coffee and cocoa rub.
I am a big fan of Teri at Buy This, Cook That. She knows how to cook and I often find myself drooling over her photos. Like, I feel that she would be a person whose house I would want to be invited over to for supper all the time. This coffee rubbed steak is no different. Teri makes great recipes and takes drool-worthy photos. Get the recipe from Buy This, Cook That.
This recipe intrigued me, but I feel the flavors should just work together. I mean, it isn’t like I would be able to go down to the store and pick up a 12-pack of espresso root beer, but I imagine these flavors together and they really seem to just go hand in hand. Sarah cracked me up in her about page by referring to her husband as the resident cheese grater. Why by a cheese grater when you have Kevin? lol. Everybody needs a Kevin. Really though, this sauce looks delicious and you should check this recipe out. I make no guarantees about Kevin grating your cheese.
I did not know exactly what I would find when I went down the hole of savory coffee dishes, but I think the message is pretty clear. Coffee and meat seem to go together very well. All of these recipes look great and I like each one of these blogs. Of course, I want you to click around Ramshackle Pantry some more, but after you are done with that, you should check out each of these blogs!
