- Mix topping ingredients well and spread evenly on top of pie
- Trim excess dough, but the crust will shink a bit, so leave a bit
- Using fork, crimp the crust to give a pie crust look
- Place tinfoil around the outside of the crust to help burn.
- Put in oven for 35 minutes
- Remove tinfoil
- Check every 5 minutes and remove when it looks done. 5 to 10 minutes later.
- Let rest for at least 2 hours and serve
Notes
- Store-bought crust works fine, but I use my homemade Best Butter Crust recipe.
- Slice the apples thin for the best results and make sure to leave the core out.
- I have purchased a ‘legit’ pie crust guard before, but I think pieces of tinfoil works better.
